I am now on the 7th chapter of the book. Adeline grandmother died. So she lives with her father in shangai. She has to move schools. She is now living with her father and his wife. Niang (step mother) gets mean to adeline and her siblings. She shows violence to them. This is sad. Her Grandpa has no money and Niang doesn't care. They now have to walk three miles to school! Woah!
