Trip to the Langham Hotel!

On Tuesday, the ambassadors had the chance to speak at a conference @ the wonderful Langham Hotel in the city. We were satisfied by the beauty of the building! The lights, sofa's, counters and even bathrooms. It took us a while to get through all the hassle in the traffic. Looking for the Valet parking , we were VERY excited to go inside. While busy day dreaming in the car, we suddenly felt the car stop, and we found our selves parking near an elevator.

Going through the elevator we could feel our weight lifting us up, which gave me shivers!  A gentleman , that with us in the elevator, looked like he was confused. I think he was confused that we were there. The elevator doors opened and I saw a VERY fancy hotel, right through my eyes. I gasped as I saw golden knobs , very fancy couches and my favourite, the golden shiny glittery soft pillow.

"This way children" I heard Mrs Burt say out of sight. She led us to a mysterious room, which I would call the lunch dining room. Oh my, it was fabulous there was a blue soft mat, lots of shiny utensils and even a small cafe ! It was wonderful. Mrs Burt took a stop to talk to someone, while she was doing that we looked around the room speechless and AMAZED.

"This way children!" Repeated Mrs Burt, who was guided by a lady with short and trimmed hair. They led us into the conference room , which was the room that we were speaking at. We were stunned by the lights and the chairs also the stage. "Is that for us?" I asked to myself. The lady guided us to the stage and there were tables and chairs for us. It looked so fancy for us. "I can not wait" was the word that kept on ringing in my mind!

A few minutes later everybody started greeting us and entering the room, and the rest of the ambassadors arrived in pride! We saw that they were excited as well. "E nga mana . . " Those were the first words I said, to the doctors I was VERY nervous and was shaking my hands that were starting to sweat. Luckily I looked @ the paper that said FOCUS that I wrote before I started speaking.

After finished our presentation, we heard a VERY long applause! It was so long that it almost went about for a minute. Mrs Burt came up to do her little speech which was read from a small screen. She handled it. While going down in a line, we went past the audience who were giving us HUGE smiles. A wonderful kind lady, told us that she was VERY impressed. She told us that we were going to eat @ the hotel. We went into the lunch dining room and saw a table full of food. There were brownies and muffins also a refreshing drink. Did you know that we ate De-hydrated pears. It was tottaly not my type. But the brownies were just- YUM!

After eating my yummy tea, I got the chance to control the robots which was invented by some high- school students. They were really amazing and magical it was fabulous. After that we had to say bye to the people that were there. A few minutes later we went to the bathroom, which had golden knobs, lovely towels to dry our hand and refreshing soap.

Then it was time to take some photos on the wonderful smooth looking couch. with the gold glittery pillow. I took a photo with Sela and Quasia. A few minutes later we were off back to school.

Overall I had a marvellous time at the Langham hotel!  It was like an adventure for me. I am very proud of myself and the others for attending the conference with pride. I would surely love to go back next year. Thanks to the Health Congress People and The Langham hotel people for leading us speak with pride. Ahug BIG THANK YOU to everyone who went. Mwah!

Why You Shouldn't Be Mean

Why you shouldn't be mean ! When you are mean to someone you need to be very nice to them making them feel comfortable and happy. You shouldn't be mean because it effects everything not just one person. SPREAD THE WORD! Some people be mean to be people online and offline and sometimes use violence to hurt someone as well. This needs to stop. What you need to do is Respect, Help, show kindness and show trust. If you are a bully make it stop sometimes bullying can cause serious problems that could lead the bullies into big problems. Don't change somebody, accept for who they are, it's not that hard! The easy things is showing the right way. SPREAD THE WORD!

Minecraft

Minecraft has offically opened in our three unique classes in school. We did not download minecraft for playing , but for the truth of exploring , creating and finding. Lot's of people are getting addicted to it. Mr. Burt came in and told us about what we need to do since it has opened. The key words he used was "Right place, Right time, Right attitude" Which made the whole class understand part of why we are using minecraft as well. He told us that if we have something on our netbook that involves learning we GOT to share it. As you may have noticed in Learn, create, "share". SO remember Right place, right time, right attitude and you never know when someone is watching .

FRENCH MACARONS

French Macaroon are like little biscuit burgers to me! They are very tasty , all though I haven't tasted them . . . well only a little. From Miss Ouano. TRUST ME, Miss Ouano's Macarons are the bomb! They are very tasty and she also made these little raspberry ones that looked very cute and pretty. Did you know that there are two types of Macaroons? One is usually dipped in chocolate and there is also one called A french Macaron which I would prefer tasting!  Some people say that they are very hard to make. Did you remember on Master chef New Zealand 2011 they actually made these but as a little tower? Ever since I've liked a cooking show all I have been hearing in my ear is  . . "Today we are going to make French Macaroon , they are super tasty and lovely and scrumptious" Honestly! It's obviously something you see everyday. And that is how Macaroons are veerrryyy suuppppeeerrr tasty! Macarons can not be only in one shape but other shapes and other colours. I was very inspired by Miss Ouano's super amazing French Macarons. That is why you should visit and follow her blog to see how she does these in Action, A.S.A.P! Make A Homeless Person Smile

Two guys were on a task to help those who needed water , food and clothing!  So they spent their money and gave homeless people fruit water and clothing. How supportive they are , to help homeless people in a big country. Just like 40 hour famine they changed a life, not by giving thing out but by making a big difference. Last week , My dad and I were able to help homeless people as well by giving them the money they need. C'mon make a huge difference! Here is a movie that shows you why we need to help others.

Saving Up

While raising money for those in Papua New Guinea, I was as well raising money for me so that I can have a future. So far I have some silver and bronze coins in my box. I put the money box behind my room tv so nobody had to see it. It was particuarly hard to get it from the back of my tv. My goal by the end of this term is to get my save up money up to $90.  I know it seems crazy but it's depending on giving our charities , helping homeless and having a good education!

20 Hour Famine - Going Hard Out For The Hungry

On Friday, the Year 5, 6, 7 and 8 students got to go "Hard out for the Hungry" for Bougainville , Papua New Guinea. I was supporting the green team ! We did a lot of things on that Friday night. We watched Wreck it Ralph, did some activities , had some teachings and watched some 40 hour famine movies showing our teams' cheer.

We were very lucky to have the Youth Ambassadors come to our school and tell us their experiences in Papua New Guinea. They were really inspiring to us as they told us about lots of things! We learnt about what they eat and what they drink  in Papua New Guinea. They eat Kaukau (kumara in their language) all day!

They drink dirty water as well. If you sponsored us, you made a big difference to those kids. Devon and the Youth Ambassadors did an activity with us, which I call 'stations'.

Our first station was the Food station and our job was to find different food for the food pyramid. It was really hard because all we found was Kumara, Kumara, Kumara! It was really difficult, it also taught us about how hard their life is over there.

Our next station was the Education station where we had to remember everything that was under the sheet and so far we did not graduate. The funniest station was the medical station , we had to put the cup of water into another. We actually found out that in the garden sprinkler there was coke.

Our last station was the house station, we had to build a house using cardboard boxes and chairs to be able to be safe. Over all I think that we found out a lot of things as well as helping the kids who need food and clean water.

Here is one of the movies I was inspired by...

I created this movie, along with my team, to say thank you to our sponsors:

Mixed Netball Team Recount

Walking outside for the Tusitala searching for Mr Burt. I noticed his face through Mrs Jarman's office . "Hi Mr. Burt are you free to transport me to the netball courts?" I asked. " I will be free " Unexpectedly said Mrs Jarman. Making our way to the courts we were talking about the old days and family questions. "Good Luck on you game" Said Mrs Jarman as I closed the door. "Thanks" I mumbled.

Looking around for my team I noticed our netball team's uniform- red, black and beautiful- running to the Canterbury bag I grabbed out a spares uniform. After getting changed we all had to meet up with all the maniakalani cluster schools, to get some information of what we are about to do! "Welcome to the AMI courts" I heard someone say, I basically faced to the front.

Our first game was against Bailey road , I played sub in the first half of the game. In the second half I played Goal Shoot.  Going for the ball I passed it to Pauwai so that she could shoot the goal in and earn us some points.

After a few points we won, my favorite part of the game was having to get the experience of playing netball .

To be continued  . . .

Big News

Google is coming to our school to film us for 3 days for a '2 minute film' that means that they got a lot of work to do. That's why I say that google is very hard working and smart! They know what is happening and what is going on! On YouTube you may notice our school, if you have the privilege to leave me feedback on this post.

Creative Talent!

Everybody has a talent, show it! Don't be shy. My talent is playing netball and I love it. So . . . if you I got a talent , you do too. It isn't that hard , show the world your beginning of your dream. Don't get anything in your way of showing, let everything out and stay real! So, grab everything and create what you got and then share it. It is similar to 'learn, create and share'.

Writing Books!

This year , I want to get the chance to create a digital childrens picture book. I know it will take lots of work , but if others can do it , I can do it! Last year , I had the chance to write a digital narrative book and since 2013 began I have been thinking about doing it. The digital book will be posted soon, I hope you read it!

Welcome 'Google'

Welcome to the visitors at point england, I hope you have enjoyed your time with us, laughing and concentrating. We hope you have enjoyed the sharing that goes around our school. May tomorrow be a better brighter day for 'you'.

Mixed Netball Team Game!

Today we had the privilege  to step up and play against the Maniakalani school , which was pretty challenging. But at the end , we came 1st! Our first game was again bailey road school, and in the first half I played sub. In the second half I played goal shoot, it was very fun. Overall the game was really fun and cool, my theory is that there should be a year 7 team next year!

Investigating In The Kitchen

While sitting at home, bored, I decided to do a little experimenting in the Kitchen. So I grabbed a container filled with water, black pepper, salt and chilli sauce. I was trying to find out some things. I first added 2 tablespoons of soy sauce in the water. Then added pepper and salt. I mixed the ingredients together and noticed the pepper was floating - but how? Then I added chilli sauce to see what happened , but nothing really happened.

I decided to add water to a different container and added  dish washing liquid. Then I got a bowl and put tap water in it. I put the piece of 'metal' earing inside the both of  the types of water and it sunk. I put the 'plastic' bottle cap inside both types of water and it floated- How does it happen?
